Mexican cuisine is my all-time favorite kind of cuisine to enjoy. Tacos are something my husband and the kids would be happy to eat many nights a week, so that works out well for me. It provides me with an opportunity to be more creative with things like this Easy Taco Braid recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
- 500 grams.Of lean ground beef.
- 2 large spoons.Of taco seasoning.
- Canned crescent roll dough rolls, I used one can.
- Mexican cheese blend, I used one cup, but you add more if desired.
- Toppings: You can use whatever you have!!!
- Diced tomatoes.
- Shredded lettuce.
- Sliced avocado.
- Chopped cilantro
DIRECTIONS:
1st Step:
Cook the ground beef in a pan until it is browned and remove any extra grease.
2nd Step:
Toss in the taco spice and 1/4 cup of water until well combined, and cook for an additional 5 minutes on low heat.
3rd Step:
Then, you should unroll The dough onto a sheet pan and any gaps pressed together while the meat is cooking.
4th Step:
Add the meat in a strip along the middle of the dough, leaving approximately 2 inches on each side of the central strip of dough, then finish with a generous sprinkling of cheese.
5th Step:
Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips on both the top and bottom!
6th Step:
Take a strip from each side and cross it over the filling in a braid-like pattern, folding one end over the filling. Excess dough may be tucked below or used to fill up any gaps that seem to be empty.
7th Step:
Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, or until the top is golden brown.
8th Step:
Remove from the oven and, if wanted, top with more cheese. Serve with sour cream and salsa, then top with your favorite taco toppings!
What I like the most about it was that it was a unique take on the traditional taco. It’s extremely simple to put together and will make Taco Tuesday night that much more enjoyable!
