3 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons white sugar
12 thick slices white bread
2 tablespoons butter
Whisk sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, milk, eggs and poppy seeds
together in a small mixing bowl.
Heat a big frying pan or griddle on moderate heat, in the frying
pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Into the egg batter, dip a bread slice, then take it out immediately.
Keep on dipping slices of bread while stirring the batter often to
prevent poppy seeds from sinking to the bottom. Lay bread on the
frying pan until no more bread will fit in.
Cook bread slices until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each
side. Do same process for leftover bread. Serve hot.
