1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup butter, chilled
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup chopped pear
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F).
In a large bowl, sift together the cinnamon, flour, salt, brown
sugar, and baking powder. Chop in butter until the resulting
mixture has a crumbly texture. In a separate bowl, whisk together
the half-and-half and egg. Mix egg mixture into flour mixture
Mix in pear. Transfer onto an ungreased baking
sheet by dropping large spoonfuls of the dough.
Bake for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven until golden
brown. Let to stand briefly on a cooling rack prior to serving.
