1/2 cup onion, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 pound ground beef
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup Italian-seasoned dry bread crumbs
Set the oven at 425 ° F (220 ° C) and start preheating. Use
aluminum foil to line inside a 9×12 baking dish; spray with
nonstick cooking spray.
In a mixing bowl, combine onion and egg together. Put in ground
beef and ketchup; season using bread crumbs, Italian seasoning,
salt and pepper; mix till evenly blended. Arrange the mixture into
the prepared pan; pat into an 8-in square.
Use a metal spatula or
table knife to cut the square into 6 vertical strips; cut the strips
horizontally into 6 pieces each to get 36 pieces. Do not divide the
pieces, just press through the meat to divide it.
Bake for 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven, till the meatballs
are no longer pink in the center. Strain off any grease; use a knife
to separate the meatballs. Serve.
