3/4 pound boneless tender beef steak, rib eye, sirloin or flank
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons Kikkoman Soy Sauce, divided
1 large clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pound fresh broccoli, trimmed
4 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons Kikkoman Seasoned Rice Vinegar
Slice the beef into thin slices across the grain. In a medium bowl,
mix together 1 tablespoon each of soy sauce and cornstarch with
garlic, and sugar, mix in beef then leave it to stand for 10
While allowing the mixture to stand, remove the flowerets from
the broccoli then cut it into bite-size chunks. Peel away the stalks
then slice into thin slices diagonally.
In a small bowl, combine the remaining 2 tablespoon soy sauce, 1
cup water, crushed red pepper, and 4 teaspoons cornstarch then
set it aside.
Place a wok or large cooking pan over high heat and heat 1
tablespoon oil in it. Stir-fry the beef in the oil for a minute then
take it out.
In the same pan, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil. Stir-fry
the onion and broccoli in the oil for 2 minutes. Drizzle 1
tablespoon of water over the vegetables. Cover the pan and cook
for 2 minutes with occasional stirring.
Mix in the beef and the soy sauce mixture and continue cooking
and stirring until the sauce boils and has thickened. Turn the heat
off then add the vinegar while stirring.
